Leather Glue

Leather glue is a special type of adhesive used to repair leather when it is ripped or cut.  Leather is a natural material, that requires a specific formula inorder to bond it to itself.  There are many manufacturers of leather glue and finding the type of glue that is right for your leather repair will take a little bit of research.

Krazy Glue is a popular brand of “super glue” that also makes a formula for repairing leather.  Aleene’s is another brand of adhesive that makes a quality leather glue.  There are also leather glues from additional companies that make other types of adhesives.

When making a choice of which brand of leather glue to buy, be sure to read the manufacturers guarentee.  Some glue makers will guarentee that their leather glue will hold for a certain amount of time, but you may need to follow specific use directions.

Depending on the type of leather repair that you need to perform, you may need to use different types of leather glue.  There are also leather repair kits for furniture and upholstery that you may need to purchase instead of just using leather glue.  This type of repair can be tricky, and you may want to hire a professional to perform this.  This will cost a bit more, but you will receive a professional finish that will not fall apart after a period of time.
